James McMath

James McMath is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in backend development and team management. Currently serving as Engineering Manager - Backend at Quanata since May 2020, James oversees a diverse team focused on critical insurance platform systems while driving technical initiatives and strategic direction. Previous roles include Staff Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Karat, where James specialized in fair technical interviewing, and Founder of Chapbook, LLC, a crowdfunding platform for authors. Additionally, James has held engineering positions at Tophatter, Remind, and International Bridges to Justice, contributing to machine learning projects and infrastructure development. James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature from Reed College and has pursued further studies at Seoul National University and Capital Normal University.
