Ian Chan has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Ian most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Blueprint, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they held the same position at The Open Futures Foundation, where they focused on driving transformative change at scale. In 2020, Ian was the GM and CFO at Moves, leading a team to provide financial services products to gig workers. Ian also has a background at Deloitte Canada, where they held leadership roles in disruption and growth, including being the Google Alliance Executive. Ian's earlier experience includes a role as VP and COO at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, managing technology services for CIBC, and as the SVP of Global Head of Corporate Foreign Exchange Online at Thomas Cook Group.

Ian Chan has a diverse education history. Ian started their academic journey in 1986 at the University of Toronto, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree in Economics and successfully completed it in 1990. In 2001, Ian Chan attended the University of Toronto again, this time joining the Rotman School of Management to pursue an MBA in Global Strategy and Marketing, which they completed in 2002. In 1998, they also studied at INSEAD to further enhance their knowledge in Global Management. Continuing their pursuit of knowledge and skill development, Ian Chan attended the Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 2011 to study Design Thinking for Creativity and Business Innovation. Lastly, in 2013, they enrolled in Singularity University to expand their understanding of Exponentials Technologies and Exponentials Organizations.
