Ruth Stephen is an accomplished leader in finance and policy, currently serving as the Director of the Behavioural Finance Lab at the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada since January 2020. Ruth directs research initiatives aimed at enhancing the financial resilience of Canadians and plays a key role in developing Canada's National Financial Literacy Strategy. Additionally, Ruth is a member of the Better Evidence Council at Blueprint since September 2022, contributing insights on social policy challenges. Previous experience includes roles at Natural Resources Canada, where Ruth directed economic analysis and the Clean Technology Data Strategy, and held various advisory and managerial positions within the Ontario government, influencing economic and tax policy. Ruth holds advanced degrees in International Affairs and has completed executive leadership training at Harvard Kennedy School.
