Sean Taylor has a long history of work experience in the software engineering field. Sean began their career in 1994 as a Software Engineer at Philips Telecom. In 1998, they moved to AT Road (now Trimble) as a Senior Firmware Engineer, where they migrated a CDPD (analog cellular packet) based vehicle tracking device to GSM/GPRS and CDMA 1x, as well as adding failsafe over the air remote reprogramming feature, dialup networking client support, and driver messaging features. In 2003, they joined Sierra Wireless (formerly GenXMobile) as a Senior Firmware Engineer and was the chief developer in a 2-3 person embedded software team. Sean created a low resource, bare-metal C based mobile asset tracking device, containing wireless modems (LTE/UMTS/GPRS/CDMA), GPS, Bluetooth, and vehicle bus (J1939, ISO 15765 OBD) capability. In 2020, they joined Blues Wireless as a Staff Firmware Engineer.
Sean Taylor attended the University of Southampton from 1987 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in both Electronic Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
