Bluestar Pretrial Support works to improve access to safe, trauma-informed pre-trial support. We provide training and accreditation in line with the UK’s Best Practice Standard for the delivery of pre-trial therapy and support service, and use needs assessments, best practice models, research and lived experience to deliver supported systems programmes - building readiness for collaborative commissioning and trauma-informed practice across the voluntary sector, health, CAMHS and justice sector in line with Barnahus/Child House principles and learning from the specialist voluntary sector.
Building on the three year Bluestar Project hosted at The Green House, Bluestar quickly became the UK’s Best Practice Standard and national training provider for pre-trial therapy and support services - or any country with an adversarial justice system. Our breadth of knowledge and roots in Lived Experience has delivered empowering training to over 2500 practitioners since 2023, and supported numerous services to access the Supported Services programme or reach Accreditation against the Bluestar Best Practice Standards.
Bluestar pioneers many groundbreaking projects, e.g research into the challenges of working in Harmful Sexual Behaviour services, creating resources to support the delivery of groups pre-trial, supporting young people in Secure Children’s Homes and, most recently, the Supported Systems programme. The SSP offers support to local regions to map current children’s support, identify good practice and service gaps, establish VOICE networks to co-design local models, and collaborative commissioning and trauma-informed practice across multiple sectors.
All Bluestar resources are open access for any practitioners to use, and relevant to anyone working in a country with an adversarial legal system.
