James Pickrell has worked in the customer support and engineering fields since 2008. In 2008, they began working as an Applications Engineer at Lighting Systems, where they provided 3D Lighting modeling and technical product support for architects/contractors. In 2009, they moved to bepress as a Senior Team Manager - Consulting Services, where they oversaw training/management of 3 teams providing consulting support for the scholarly repositories of approximately 150 major Universities & orgs. In 2017, they joined BlueVolt as a Customer Support Supervisor, and later held roles as Interim Customer Support Supervisor and Product Support Specialist.

James Pickrell attended Missouri University of Science and Technology from 1997 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in English.
