Malcolm Elliott is currently the Editor in Chief of Agriculture & Food Security at BioMed Central, a position held since 2011. They also serve as the Founding Director of The Norman Borlaug Institute since 1994. Previously, Malcolm was a Professor and Head of the School of Life Sciences at De Montfort University from 1971 to 1994 and worked as a Lecturer in Plant Biochemistry at the University of Leicester from 1969 to 1971. Malcolm earned a BSc in Plant Science and a PhD in Plant Biochemistry from the University of Wales, Swansea, and was a Research Staff Biologist and Fulbright Scholar at Yale University.
