Athanasios Koukoulis has extensive experience in veterinary management and food safety consultancy. From October 2006 to September 2025, Koukoulis served as the Veterinary Manager at Sfageia Karditsas SA (Slaughterhouse). Koukoulis has also held the position of Lead Auditor at EUROCERT INSPECTION SERVICES PVT LTD since January 2008 and at BMCERT since October 2019. Additionally, Koukoulis has operated a consultancy focused on food hygiene since December 2011. Koukoulis holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
