Jan Decuyper

Jan Decuyper is currently involved in algorithmic trading for Battery Energy Storage Systems at Bnewable, where they have been since 2025. Simultaneously, they serve as an Assistant Professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, a position held since 2017, after completing their PhD in Engineering Sciences with greatest distinction at the same institution. Previously, Jan led data science initiatives and worked as a simulation and control engineer at Aug.e, focusing on sustainable energy solutions. They hold a Master of Science in Electromechanics - Renewable Energy and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Science - Electromechanics, both with great distinction from Erasmushogeschool Brussel.
