David Bainbridge has worked in the media and marketing industry for over two decades. David started their career in 1996 as Deputy Marketing Director at Channel 5 Broadcasting. In 2002, they founded Whoosh, a relationship marketing agency, and was part of the launch team with the backing of Channel 5. In 2006, they became Director of Marketing, Communications and Audiences at BBC, where they were responsible for the launch of BBC iPlayer. This launch was multi-award winning and generated brand awareness from 0 to 60% in 6 months. In 2009, they became Vice Chairman of MCBD, a 2010 IPA Effectiveness Agency of the Year, and in 2010, they became CEO of Elvis Communications, a 150-person direct agency. In 2013, they founded Boclips, a venture-backed edtech company, and has since offered international education publishers, edtechs, and ministries of education a single procurement point to find, license, and incorporate the world's video in their learning products.
David Bainbridge attended The University of Manchester from 1988 to 1992, graduating with a BA in American Studies. In 1990 and 1991, they attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, studying General Studies. In 2009, they attended the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, studying Finance and General.
