Brian Haenchen

Brian Haenchen is a seasoned sports reporter with extensive experience covering high school and collegiate sports. Since July 2021, Brian has been working at The Indianapolis Star, focusing on high school volleyball, soccer, girls basketball, and softball in Central Indiana, with plans to expand coverage statewide. Prior to this role, Brian reported for the Argus Leader from August 2015 to July 2021, where coverage included the University of South Dakota and high school sports. Other notable positions include Lead Sports Producer at CBS Sports 920 and a columnist covering various collegiate sports for InsideSTL. Brian also held roles with FOX Sports Midwest and as a men's basketball beat writer for The University News. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication-Journalism and Media Studies from Saint Louis University and has a background in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and St. Louis Community College.
