James Briggs

James Briggs is an experienced journalist with a robust career in various reporting and editorial roles. Currently serving as the Opinion Editor and Columnist at The Indianapolis Star since January 2024, Briggs previously worked as a Reporter at Axios from November 2022 to December 2023 and held multiple positions at The Indianapolis Star, including Metro Columnist and Reporter, from October 2015 to December 2022. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy Managing Editor and Associate Editor at the Baltimore Business Journal from December 2011 to October 2015, as well as reporting roles at The Daily Reporter and The Oakland Press. Briggs began the journalism career as a Reporter at the Ann Arbor News and the Bay City Times.
