Building on the principles of soft tailoring as the basis for functional, wearable clothing: The Bodice silhouette is clean and strong. Sophisticated colour-blocking is balanced with strong proportions and an architecturally-informed preoccupation with line and geometry. Fluidity is added through the use of Bodice’s signature pleating technique that allows for dynamic, graceful movement.

Distilling spiritual essence and refining authentic craft techniques define the way Indian cultural roots inform both the design process and aesthetics of the label. The result is clothes that are locally rooted yet globally relevant. 

Key to this minimal, pared-back approach to India’s rich heritage of craft is trans-seasonal work with textiles such as handwoven cottons or wool woven by hand in the Himalayas. These unique textiles are accented with the use of traditional artisanal techniques. Highlighted as detailing and texture, these artisanal crafts form an integral part of Bodice’s modern language of Indian design. Bodice also uses sumptuous fabrics from Italian mills, and embraces new technologies that help tell the story of artisanal craft for the future.
