Matthew Coxon

Matthew Coxon is a cognitive psychologist specializing in mixed-methods research and user behavior in virtual reality. Currently a Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead for the BSc Psychology at York St John University, Matthew conducts research funded by Innovate UK, linking academic findings with commercial applications. Previously, Matthew served as a Teaching Associate at Royal Holloway, University of London, a Research Consultant at The Matrix Knowledge Group Ltd., and a Senior Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University. Additionally, Matthew is a Review Editor for Frontiers in Virtual Reality, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and curates the XR Research Digest. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Experimental Psychology from the University of Bristol and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and Psycholinguistics from Lancaster University.
