Jennifer Bucatari is an accomplished oceanographer with extensive experience in environmental leadership and marine resource management. Currently serving as an oceanographer at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management since February 2011, Jennifer oversees environmental coordination for offshore marine minerals and renewable energy projects, including significant initiatives like the Vineyard Wind Project. Prior roles include leading environmental coordination for offshore renewable energy projects and conducting environmental reviews for marine mineral activities. Jennifer's academic background includes a PhD in Biology from Boston University and a BS in Marine Biology from College of Charleston. Prior to current roles, Jennifer worked as a faculty research associate at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and as a project manager with the US Army Corps of Engineers.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, a bureau in the U.S. Department of the Interior, is the Federal agency that manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources, and the development of offshore renewable energy on the outer continental shelf (OCS). The program is national in scope and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Regional offices are located in New Orleans, Louisiana.; Camarillo, California, northwest of Los Angeles; and Anchorage, Alaska. A broad range of scientific, engineering and program management positions are required to keep BOEM at the forefront of offshore resource management and powering our nation.
