Steff Schellens

Steff Schellens has extensive experience in research and laboratory settings, with a notable background in biomedical sciences. A student job at Carrefour Belgium from July 2018 to September 2021 was followed by various research positions at KU Leuven, including a lab rotation focusing on stem-cell derived organoids and another on calcium signaling in cardiomyocytes. Steff completed internships at VIB, where the focus was on neurobiology and investigating ALS through iPSC-derived motor neurons. Additionally, there was involvement in mapping melanoma progression at the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Cancer Biology. Current roles include serving as an administrative assistant at Boerenbond and a private driver and transcriber for “Komen Eten.” Steff's academic journey includes a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences expected from KU Leuven and previous degrees with cum laude honors in both a bridging program and a Bachelor's program in Pharmaceutical and Biological Laboratory Technologies.
