Nelson Chen

Nelson Chen has a strong background in software engineering and network consulting. Nelson started their career at UCSB - Housing and Residential Services as a Network Consultant, where they provided support for the campus network and assisted with the setup and maintenance of networking equipment. Nelson then moved on to SmartReceipt, where they worked as a Software Engineer and was responsible for maintaining and developing the firm's printstream interception software. Nelson also implemented automated development and testing environments for server deployment. After that, Nelson joined Mobivity as a Software Engineer and later became a Senior Software Architect. In this role, they maintained and produced infrastructure for data ingestion and parsers, as well as administered and configured various software instances. Currently, Nelson is working as a Principal Software Engineer at Boingo Wireless.

Nelson Chen obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Glen A. Wilson High School from 2004 to 2008. Nelson also holds a React (Basic) Certificate from HackerRank, which was obtained in 2022.
