Luis Roca Iguina started their work experience in 2009 at El Vocero de Puerto Rico, where they initially worked as a Designer and Social Media Manager and later became a Product Manager. During their time there, they implemented strategies to increase social media traffic and grew the Facebook fanpage by 98%. Luis also designed and implemented personalization improvements for the website and increased monthly unique visits by 200%.
In 2015, Luis joined Inbify as a Product Manager, where they worked on a startup focused on leveraging SMS for customer support in Latin America. Luis participated in the Parallel18 Accelerator program and successfully obtained the first 10 paying customers.
In 2017, Luis co-founded TAIR.network and served as a Product Manager. Luis collaborated closely with the engineering team to define and execute a roadmap for a minimum viable product. Luis also conducted customer-facing interviews with publishers and media buyers to validate the roadmap and identified features.
In 2018, Luis worked as a Frontend Developer at Wapa Televisión. Luis implemented a customized version of HN's hot content algorithm, which increased pages per session by 58%. Luis also developed a React-Native app for consumers of hard news, resulting in 80k app installs and improved user retention.
Since 2019, Luis has been working at BOLD. Luis started as a Product Manager and was responsible for designing and running AB experiments that significantly improved the conversion rate. Luis also launched localized versions of a successful US app to better serve users from various countries. Currently, Luis holds the position of Director of Product Management.
Throughout their career, Luis has consistently demonstrated their expertise in product management, user personalization, and data-driven decision-making.
Luis Roca Iguina completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Video & Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago between 2006 and 2009. Prior to that, they pursued Hispanic Studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, from 2000 to 2006. In addition to their academic qualifications, Luis obtained the Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2017.
