Eric Mikkelsen

Eric Mikkelsen has been working in the web development and UX engineering fields since 2002. Eric began their career at Starbucks in 2002 as an Assistant Manager, Shift Supervisor, and Barista. In 2014, they joined Tribune Publishing as a Web Developer, where they specialized in making websites as performant as possible, optimizing for the critical rendering path, and making sure that css animations and transitions are smooth. In 2015, they moved to Mightybytes, Inc. as a Web Developer, where they learned Git, started using CSS preprocessors, and started separating their logic and view concerns using twig. In 2017, they joined Sprout Social, Inc. as a Web Developer, where they worked on Wordpress, page speed monitoring, accessibility testing, Gulp build systems, and AMP work. Their team was responsible for getting the site to 508 compliance. Finally, in 2018, they joined Boldium, LLC as a UX Engineer.

Eric Mikkelsen obtained their Bachelor's degree in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia from Columbia College Chicago in 2013. In November 2021, they earned the Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP).
