Stu Grimson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Stu started their career in 1985 as a professional athlete in the National Hockey League (NHL), playing for teams like the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, and Los Angeles Kings. After retiring from professional hockey in 2003, Grimson transitioned into various roles. Stu worked as an attorney and in-house labor counsel for the NHL Players' Association from 2006 to 2008. Stu also practiced as a trial attorney specializing in family law and civil litigation at Kay Griffin, PLLC from 2008 to 2012.

Since 2008, Grimson has been involved in the media industry. Stu worked as a television color analyst, radio personality, and website contributor for the Nashville Predators. Humphreys School of Law from 2003 to 2006, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree specializing in Labor, Domestic, and Intellectual Property Law.
