Pankesh Patel

Pankesh Patel, PhD, has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Pankesh is currently the Engineering Lead at Bolt Data, where they oversee all aspects of technology solutions, including integration, data, services, front-end and back-end development, network, deployment, scaling, security, and performance. Pankesh utilizes tools such as GitLab, AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Lambda Functions, AWS ECS, Python, and AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM). Pankesh has experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing aggressive timelines to deliver successful projects.

Previously, Pankesh served as the Senior Technology Development Manager at the University of South Carolina, where they led research and development teams in creating new technology solutions. Pankesh managed teams consisting of software engineers, data engineers, scientists, interns, and tech managers. Their responsibilities included developing APIs for large-scale data-driven analysis and securing industrial funding.

Before that, Pankesh worked as the Chief Software Architect at Jupyter PTY, where they led a team in developing MVPs for video analytics, AI modules, voice interfaces, and user interaction platforms. Pankesh also contributed to scientific publications and demonstrations in machine learning, IoT, and computer vision.

Additionally, Pankesh served as an Adjunct Research Staff Member at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, where they collaborated with researchers and supervised students. Pankesh was also a Senior Research Scientist at Fraunhofer USA Inc., focusing on implementing Industry 4.0 technologies.

Pankesh's work experience also includes serving as a Research Scientist at ABB, where they developed a Model-Driven Development approach and implemented a code generator for industrial analytics. Pankesh also worked with iOS developers to integrate backend solutions.

Earlier in their career, Pankesh worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Inria.

Pankesh Patel obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Domain Specific Language, Software Engineering, Model-driven Engineering, and Internet of Things from Pierre and Marie Curie University. Pankesh completed this degree program from 2010 to 2014.
