Lydia Mapstone, PhD, is the CEO and co-founder of BoobyBiome, where they focus on improving and protecting infant health globally through innovative products derived from the breast milk microbiome. They completed a PhD at UCL from 2017 to 2022, with a thesis on the genetic engineering and cultivation of Spirulina for potential applications on Earth and Mars. In 2017, they were a member of the Edinburgh iGEM team, which received a gold medal and recognition for their work on engineering bacteriophages to target antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
