Daan de Bruijn started their career in the hospitality industry, working in various roles at different hotels, restaurants, and bars. Daan then worked as an Allround Food & Beverage employee at the Avila Beach Hotel in Curacao. Daan also gained experience as a Research Analyst at Rabobank Nederland. After that, they joined VenturesOne, where they worked on the digitization of loyalty programs. Following that, they took a year off to travel and explore different start-ups, experimenting with different roles. In 2017, they co-founded Bookboost AB, where they currently serve as the Co-Founder & CCO. In this role, they are part of a team focused on providing a contactless guest messaging and communication platform for the hospitality industry.
Daan de Bruijn began their education in 2008 at Hotelschool The Hague, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) with a focus on Hotel Management. Daan completed their studies at this institution in 2012. After a few years, in 2015, Daan enrolled at Lund University School of Economics and Management. There, they undertook a Master of Science (MSc) program in Entrepreneurship, specializing in New Venture Creation, and finished the program in 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Daan obtained certifications related to their field. In September 2019, they became a mentor for The Master's students in Entrepreneurship: New Venture Creation at the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship at Lund University. Daan further expanded their involvement by joining the Master's students in Entrepreneurship Advisory Board at the same institution in September 2020.
