Daniel Berkowitz has a diverse work experience in the publishing industry. Daniel is currently working as the Ad Sales Director at Bookshop.org, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, Daniel founded AuthorPop in 2019, a consultancy that works with authors and publishers on various digital initiatives. Daniel also held positions at Open Road Integrated Media Inc., where they served as the Executive Director of Paid Marketing and later as the Director of Audience Monetization. At Open Road, they managed advertising partnerships and programs to drive discoverability and sales for publishers. Daniel also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Pace University, teaching a class on Information Systems in Publishing in the Spring of 2021. Before that, they served as the Digital Director at Writers House, where they developed strategies to increase book sales, build authors' audiences, and enhance discoverability. Daniel worked as the Senior Editor of Digital Book World at F+W Media, Inc., overseeing editorial strategy and content. Daniel also gained experience in communications and digital media as a Communications & Digital Associate at CASAColumbia and as an Editorial Assistant at SmartAsset.com and Hachette Book Group.
Daniel Berkowitz pursued their education at various reputable institutions. Daniel obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Vassar College, where they attended from 2007 to 2011. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Magazine Journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, completing their studies between 2012 and 2013. In addition to their formal education, Daniel obtained a certification in Digital Marketing Circuit from General Assembly in January 2018.
