Larry Abrams

Larry Abrams is the Founder and Executive Director of BookSmiles, a nonprofit established in 2017 that has successfully diverted over 3 million children's books from landfills. Growing up in Tupper Lake, New York, they developed a profound love for libraries and bookstores, which inspired the mission of BookSmiles: to ensure every child in the Philadelphia/NJ region has access to a personal library. Prior to founding BookSmiles, Abrams served in the US Navy, managed at FedEx Office/Kinkos from 1993 to 2001, and taught in low-income school districts from 2001 to 2022. They hold an educational background from Rowan University from 2008 to 2010.
