Russell Dauterman has a diverse work experience in the field of art and illustration. Russell started their career as a costume illustrator for Marvel Entertainment in 2005. Russell later worked as a freelance comic book artist and children's book illustrator, starting in 2007. In 2010, they had the opportunity to work as a costume illustrator for Marvel Studios. Russell also worked as a penciler and cover artist for Bluewater Productions. In 2011, they joined BOOM! Studios as an artist and also worked as an illustrator for Annie Automatic and as a costume illustrator for Relativity Media, LLC. Russell Dauterman began their education journey in 2003 at Boston College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Studio Art and Communications. Russell dedicated four years to this program, completing it in 2007. In order to further enhance their skills and knowledge, Dauterman then enrolled at UCLA, where they pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree specializing in Costume Design and Illustration. This program lasted from 2007 to 2009.
