Rob Schaefer is an experienced data scientist with a strong background in flight testing, computational software development, and data analysis. Currently serving as a Flight Test Senior Data Scientist at Boom Supersonic since May 2020, Rob has also held roles as Flight Test Engineer and Software Engineer within the same company. In addition, Rob has worked as a Freelance Data Scientist for Linkage Analytics, providing tailored solutions to notable clients such as The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and the Mozilla Foundation since August 2018. Rob's prior experience includes a postdoctoral associate role at the University of Minnesota, where development of computational software linking phenotype to genotype in horses was undertaken, and a USDA NIFA AFRI Postdoctoral Fellowship focused on genomic data analysis in agricultural animals. Rob holds a PhD in Biomedical Informatics and Computational Biology and a BS in Computer Science, both from the University of Minnesota.
