David Perry has a diverse work experience in various industries. David co-founded BOOMPower in 2016, where they served as the CTO. Prior to that, they were a Director at Hepburn Energy, where they played a crucial role in the operations, partner engagement, product design, and development of new generation infrastructure for Australia's first community-owned wind farm. David also owned Brunswick Space Administration, providing engineering services to clients such as Observant, the Bionics Institute, and the University of Melbourne.

David also worked as a Compute Integration Specialist at the University of Melbourne from 2016 to 2018. David worked as a Systems Engineer at Observant from 2014 to 2016, where they developed electronics, firmware, and testing systems for a new camera product and implemented sensor and production systems for their Ag & Water focused IoT platform.

Prior to that, David worked at The Climate Group as a Research & Program Manager from 2012 to 2013. In this role, they were responsible for researching and analyzing energy and emissions reduction policy, carbon management, and clean technology financing and deployment. David also managed technology reports, briefings, and produced the Greenhouse Indicator, a weekly inventory of energy CO2 emissions across Australia.

David's early career includes a role as a Research Engineer at the Bionics Institute from 2009 to 2012. Overall, they bring a depth of experience in technology, energy, research, and engineering to their work.

David Perry completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience / Biomedical Engineering from the University of Melbourne from 2008 to 2012. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in BEng(Hons) / BSc in Behavioural Neuroscience, Electrical & Biomedical Engineering from the same university from 2003 to 2011.
