Tom Travers

Tom Travers is a Senior Data Scientist specializing in natural language processing (NLP) with expertise in machine learning and complex systems. Currently, at Boon, they apply their skills to innovate data science solutions. Previously, they contributed as a Data Scientist at Natural England, where they developed species distribution models to support biodiversity conservation. Tom's academic background includes a PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Liverpool and a Master's Degree with Distinction in Biodiversity and Conservation from the University of Leeds. They have also served as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant, guiding students in statistics and programming.
