Richard Yang has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Richard started their career as a High School Division Treasurer at WE To ME Foundation in 2017. In 2018, they worked as a Pool Lifeguard at PPL Corporation. In 2019, Richard worked as a Biomedical Image Processing Intern at St. Michael's Hospital, where they gained experience in this field.

Additionally, in the same year, Richard also worked as a Control Systems Software Engineer for the University of Toronto Hyperloop Team. In this role, they participated in designing and programming a finite state machine using object-oriented C++, and worked with microcontrollers like Arduinos Unos.

In 2021, Richard joined Untether AI as a Quantization Software Engineer, where they worked until August 2022. Richard then transitioned to a new role within the same company as a Placement and Routing Software Engineer from May to December 2021.

Richard Yang attended John Fraser Secondary School from 2014 to 2018 and obtained their Ontario Secondary School Diploma during that time. Following their secondary education, they enrolled at the University of Toronto in 2018. From 2018 to 2024, Richard pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Software Engineering, specializing in Machine Intelligence. In addition to their academic achievements, Richard also obtained certifications in various fields. In August 2012, they completed Advanced Rudiments with First Class Honors from The Royal Conservatory of Music, and in July 2017, they received a Lifeguard certification from Lifesaving Society Ontario.
