Zin Smati

Mr. Smati is a corporate director and brings over 30 years of U.S. and international experience in the energy industry.

He is the former President and CEO of GDF SUEZ NA, part of ENGIE, one of the world’s leading energy groups where he managed, for 10 years, all electricity and gas activities in the US, Canada and Mexico.

He is also the former President and CEO of BP Global Power, part of BP, where he managed a worldwide power generation business.

He started his career in the electricity industry in the United Kingdom.

He is currently a member of the board of directors of SNC Lavalin and a member of the board of trustees of the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business.

He is also the former chairman of the board of LifeEnergy, and a former member of the board of directors of Gaz Metro.

Mr. Smati holds a Ph.D., an MBA an MSc and a B.Eng, all from U.K. universities.
