Arno Avela

Arno Avela possesses extensive experience in the fields of marketing, business development, and technology commercialization within the polymer and plastics industry. Avela's tenure at Borealis from January 2012 to December 2014 included roles such as Marketing Manager for Low Voltage and Flame Retardant Cable Applications, New Business Development Manager for PO Foam, and Manager of Technology Commercialization, overseeing critical departments. Previous experience includes serving as Managing Director and Area & Sales Manager at SABIC following the acquisition of General Electric Plastics, and as Global Account Manager & Nordic Distribution Manager at GE. Avela holds a Doctor of Engineering (PhD) in Polymer/Plastics Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, a Master of Science in Business and Technology Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan, achieved with distinction.
