Ben van Loo

Ben Van Loo is an experienced professional in the chemical industry, currently serving as the Shift Supervisor for Commissioning and Startup at Borealis since June 2020. In this role, Ben oversees the commissioning and startup phases of chemical processing systems, managing a team of operators while ensuring safe and efficient operations. Previous positions held at Borealis include SimOps Coordinator, Commissioning and Startup Deputy Team Leader, and Commissioning and Startup Operator. Prior to Borealis, Ben worked at Renasci Oostende as a Consultant for Process Safety, and at Gunvor Petroleum Antwerpen nv in various roles including Junior Team Leader Process and Panel Operator. Ben's education includes a certificate in Industrial Firefighting from Falck and an Orange Belt in Lean Six Sigma from Lean Six Sigma Belgium.
