Klaartje Vermeulen

VP Hydrocarbon Operations at Borealis

Klaartje Vermeulen began their work experience in 2000 as a Field of Play Marshal for the Australian Olympic Committee. Klaartje then gained further experience as a Management Trainee at Quest International from 2001 to 2002. In 2002, they joined Borealis as a Production Engineer for HDPE, and later became the Production Manager for HDPE and PP3. From 2012 to 2016, they worked at Borouge as the Operations Manager for PP1&2 and then as the Vice President of Polyolefins Operations. Currently, they hold the position of Director HSE at Borealis since 2016, and in April 2019, they were promoted to VP Hydrocarbon Operations.

Klaartje Vermeulen completed a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Twente, from 1993 to 1999. Before that, they attended Niels Stencen College from 1987 to 1993. In 2006, Klaartje briefly studied Bedrijfseconomie voor niet-economen at the University of Antwerp. In 2005, they also participated in the Borealis Leadership Program at IMD.
