Maarten Bekaert is an experienced professional in the field of process safety and risk management. Currently serving as Production Manager NDPH / Dehy2 and Process Safety Expert at Borealis since March 2018, Maarten has a strong background in safety reporting and quantitative risk analysis. Prior to this role, Maarten worked at Det Norske Veritas from November 2006 to February 2018 as Head of Solutions Belgium and Safety and Risk Management Consultant, specializing in major accidents, Hazop/SWIFT leadership, and process safety management. Maarten's career began at Vlaamse overheid as an engineer in safety reporting from May 2001 to October 2006. Educational qualifications include a master’s degree in environmental engineering from Ghent University, along with studies at KU Leuven and St Pol.
