John Charters

John Charters is currently the Vice President of Government Affairs at BorgWarner Inc., a role they began in 2024 after serving as the Director of Tax Structuring and M&A from 2016 to 2023. They previously held positions as Manager - Tax Counsel at GMAC/Ally Financial and U.S. Tax Counsel at Magna International. John began their career in tax at Ernst & Young as an International Tax Senior, later working as an International Tax Senior Manager at KPMG. They earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) in Tax Law/Taxation from Villanova University School of Law and a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
