John-Paul Smith

John-Paul Smith is currently the CEO of Imagineer Systems at Boris FX, where they leverage their extensive expertise in visual effects. From 2018 to 2023, they served as the Director of The Open Effects Association, a non-profit focused on developing open standards for the visual effects community. Earlier in their career, John-Paul held multiple roles at Imagineer Systems, including Chief Technology Officer and Head of Engineering, following their tenure as a Software Engineer at Imagineer Software. John-Paul holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College, which they completed in 2001.
