Nik Scharmann

Nik Scharmann is the founder of Calculating Space Lda, where they consult on the design, development, and operation of data spaces, leveraging extensive experience from initiatives like Gaia-X and Catena-X. Previously, they served as an elected member of the advisory board for the Catena-X Automotive Network and held various roles at Bosch Rexroth, including Project Director for R&D in Ocean Energy and the Economy of Things. Nik also has a background in computational philosophy and algorithmic information theory through their work at SitivoN. They earned a Dipl.Wirtsch.Ing from the Technical University Darmstadt and a Dr.Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Hamburg. Currently, they are in a chief expert role at Bosch Cooperate Research, on extended leave to gain startup experience.
