Roman Gansch

Roman Gansch is a Safety Research Engineer at Bosch since July 2019, specializing in the safety of autonomous systems in complex environments through the integration of data-driven methods and safety engineering. Current research focuses on causal inference techniques for AI-based perception system safety. Prior experience includes a role as a Functional Safety Expert at Bosch from March 2015 to June 2019, where responsibilities involved developing safety-related functions for automotive electronic control units and managing systems engineering practices. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Infrared Photonics from Technische Universität Wien, a Master’s Degree in Safety and Systems Engineering, and various other degrees in Electrical Engineering and Microelectronics, complemented by a NanoDegree in Self Driving Car Engineering from Udacity.
