Matthew Powers

Matthew Powers is a seasoned professional in robotics and intelligent systems, currently serving as Sr Manager of Autonomy R&D at Boston Dynamics since December 2022. Previously, Matthew held positions as Director of Engineering at Robust.AI and Lead of Systems Engineering at Argo AI. Notably, a tenure at Apple as Senior Engineering Manager in the Special Projects Group focused on developing complex algorithmic systems. As a co-founder and Technology Principal at KIKAIYA, Matthew led design consultancy efforts in user experience for robotics. Extensive experience includes roles at the National Robotics Engineering Center and Georgia Institute of Technology, where notable contributions were made to various DARPA programs and projects. Matthew holds a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, along with dual BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from Northwestern University.
