Michael Lutter

Michael Lutter is a seasoned professional in the field of machine learning and robotics, currently serving as the Manager of Atlas Behavior Learning at Boston Dynamics since May 2022, where leadership of a team focused on reinforcement learning for humanoid manipulation is a primary responsibility. Prior roles include Research Scientist at Boston Dynamics, Postdoctoral Researcher and Ph.D. Student at Technische Universität Darmstadt, and Research Internships at DeepMind and NVIDIA. Michael has experience working on innovative projects related to robotic control, anomaly detection in engine data, and business consulting for retail and startups. Educational qualifications include a Research Doctorate in Machine Learning & Robotics from Technische Universität Darmstadt, a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich, and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Duisburg-Essen.
