Michael Murphy

Michael Murphy is currently working at Boston Dynamics as the Senior Technical Director & Chief Systems Engineer for the Stretch robot. Prior to this role, Michael held positions as the Principal Robotics Engineer and Staff Robotics Engineer, working on various robotic projects. Before joining Boston Dynamics, Michael was a Lead Robotics Engineer at Carnegie Mellon University where Michael focused on bio-inspired mobile robotics and micro/nanoscale adhesion. Michael also has experience as a Design Intern at Sikorsky Aircraft. Michael holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering - Robotics & Micro/Nanotechnology from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University.
