Mark Stephen Meadows

Mark Stephen Meadows is the CEO and founder of Botanic Technologies, Inc., a company that provides multi-modal bot platforms. Mark is also the inventor of the hearts and minds that drive these social, software robots.

Meadows has a long history of working with artificial intelligence, artificial emotion, and interactive portraiture. Mark started their career as an artist-in-residence and researcher at Xerox PARC in 1998. In 2000, they moved to the Stanford Research Institute as a creative director and researcher. And in 2003, they joined The Waag Society as an artist and researcher.

In May 2017, Meadows co-founded Seed Vault Ltd., a company that provides methods of personality generation, relationship building, and trust building for digital characters. Mark served as a trustee of the company until January 2021.

Mark Meadows attended St. John's College, where they studied philosophy, literature, and mathematics. Mark then attended the San Francisco Art Institute, where they studied painting and photography. After that, they attended Harvard University, where they studied biology. Finally, they attended the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where they studied philosophy. Mark is also certified as a USCG Merchant Marine Officer.
