Bothwell Community Hub is a beautiful, listed building in the heart of Bothwell, South Lanarkshire. Recently re-opened to the public after extensive renovations, it has been completely transformed from an under-invested in local library into a bright and adaptable focal point for the village. It has retained the community’s valued local library service, whilst also offering a much needed social space in a multi-purpose facility hosting group activities and event space for pop-up-shops or exhibitions.

This iconic building, built in 1910 from a bequest to the village in the estate of James Donald (1830/1905) had been home to Bothwell Library since 1966. After falling into a poor state of repair, the building was saved from closure in July 2022 by the successful completion of a Community Asset Transfer which brought the building full circle, back into the safe hands of the local community. This is one of many projects taken on to tackle the current and future needs of the village of Bothwell by local community trust, Bothwell Futures.
