Yanal W. has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Yanal started their career at Damascus University as a Lecturer, teaching courses on Machine Learning and Computer Vision. Yanal then worked as a Software Engineer at Syriatel Mobile Telecom, where they developed REST APIs for GSM mobile services and IVR/SMS/MMS gateway applications.

Afterwards, Yanal joined Xerox as a Research Engineer, collaborating with the GETALP team to develop a system for creative image navigation and exploration. Yanal later joined IUT d'Aix-Marseille as a Lecturer, teaching courses on Algorithms, Databases, and Operating Systems.

Yanal's career then shifted towards the field of data science. Yanal worked at VISOON, collaborating with the Images and Models team, UMR 7296 (LSIS), and dermatologists to develop a classifier for melanoma detection based on local pattern analysis. Yanal also conducted experiments to validate the Ugly Duckling sign for melanoma detection.

Next, Yanal worked as a Research Engineer at LSIS UMR 7296 (Image and Models), where they implemented a new approach for melanoma detection and led a team to build a real-time medical imaging platform for dermatologists. Yanal also participated in the creation of anapix-medical.

Yanal's data science expertise continued at Kelkoo Group, where they designed and deployed projects related to Ads Retargeting and Search Ranking. Yanal also created methods for publishers and merchants assessment based on behavioral clustering.

Following that, Yanal joined Guru (getguru.com) as a Senior Data Scientist, where they prototyped and implemented AI projects using machine learning and natural language processing. Yanal also played a key role in presenting Guru's AI initiatives for fundraising.

Currently, Yanal is the Vice President of Data at Botify, where they lead the data team and oversees the company's data strategy and roadmap.

Yanal W. completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Science - Artificial Intelligence at Damascus University from 2002 to 2007.
