James Johnson

James Johnson has extensive experience in the field of CAD technology and design software, starting as an Engineer and CAD Designer in 2004 at Bowman Consulting. James later took on roles such as Senior Designer and Corporate CAD Technology Manager, where they managed large-scale projects and provided support to the Civil 3D staff. With over 16 years of experience, James also served as the Corporate CAD Technology Manager at Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd., managing CAD standards and training for over 50 offices across the US. Prior to Bowman, James worked as a CAD Designer at Christopher Consultants from 2001 to 2004.

James Johnson obtained a CAD Certification in Civil Design from CAD Microsystems in 2000-2001. James later received a Civil 3D Certification in Civil Design from Avatech in 2007-2008. In 2018, they became an AutoCAD Civil 3D Certified Professional through Autodesk, and in 2023, they obtained the Linchpin certification from Bowman Consulting.
