Jon Rooney

Jon Rooney is an accomplished marketing executive with extensive experience in product marketing across various industries. Currently serving as Vice President of Product Marketing at Box since August 2025, Jon also holds a mentorship role at Sharebird, where insights are provided to product marketers. Prior to Box, Jon was Vice President of Product Marketing at Unity (January 2023 - August 2025) and at New Relic, Inc. (September 2019 - February 2021), where the focus was on enhancing software creation. Additional experience includes leadership positions at Oracle, Domino Data Lab, and Splunk, where significant contributions involved strategic marketing and product positioning. Jon began a career in technology product management at Microsoft, ultimately earning a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business.
