Non Executive Director, Co-Founder at Boxergy

Jamie Watson has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jamie is currently the Managing Director and Founder of Spaer Medical since June 2020. Prior to that, they were a Non Executive Director and Co-Founder of Boxergy, a technology company focused on renewable tech, from May 2018.

From 2012 to 2018, Jamie worked at Medtronic as a Technical Fellow, where they served as a System Architect, Project Manager, and Technical Support for regulatory submissions. Jamie was also the Technical Lead for next generation oximetry research and the Chief Scientist for the Nellcor franchise. Jamie provided global post-market support and engaged in face-to-face customer meetings in various regions.

Jamie's previous role was as a Principal Engineer at Medtronic / COVIDIEN (UK) COMMERCIAL LIMITED from May 2008 to May 2012. In this role, they were responsible for managing engineering work, leading an in-house engineering team, and reporting on technical aspects of projects to senior management.

Earlier in their career, Jamie held the position of Director and Co-Founder at CardioDigital Inc from February 2007 to April 2008. Before that, they were the Director, Co-Founder, and CTO of CardioDigital Limited, where they were involved in advanced algorithm design, project planning, and financial management.

Jamie began their professional journey as a Research Fellow at Napier University from October 1993 to March 2001. Jamie also worked as a Research Officer at the Paint Research Association from July 1990 to September 1992.

Jamie Watson's education history begins in 1986 when they enrolled at the University of Leicester. They completed a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Physics with Microelectronics and Computing in 1990. Following this, from 1992 to 1993, Jamie pursued a Master of Science degree in Advanced Methods in Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence at Queen Mary University of London. Continuing their academic journey, Jamie attended Edinburgh Napier University from 1993 to 2001, where they obtained a PhD in Engineering.
