Steve Begalman

Steve Begalman has a strong background in information security and advisory services. Steve is currently Chief Information Security Officer at Boyd Gaming, a role they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as VP of Information Security at Boyd Gaming from February 2018 to October 2022. Before joining Boyd Gaming, Steve worked at Cisco as the Advisory Practice Lead for Americas (West) from November 2014 to May 2016. Steve also gained experience at EY as a Senior Manager in Advisory Services from November 2013 to November 2014. Earlier in their career, Steve held positions at Symantec as a Principal Technical Product Manager from September 2011 to November 2013 and at HSBC as Vice President of Information Security Risk from March 2008 to October 2011. Steve began their career at Accenture / Andersen Consulting, where they worked as an Experienced Manager from June 1998 to February 2008. Overall, Steve has a wealth of experience in information security and risk management.

Steve Begalman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Accounting/Finance from the University of Arizona. Steve also has a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. In addition to their degrees, Steve has obtained several certifications, including the FBI CISO Academy from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2023, the Boardroom Certified Qualified Technology Expert (QTE) from the Digital Directors Network in 2022, the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from GIAC in February 2014, the GIAC Certifed Enterprise Defender (GCED) from GIAC in February 2013, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2 in 2011.
