Bin Zhang

Bin Zhang is a seasoned professional in the oil and gas industry with extensive experience in various roles across multiple companies. Currently serving as a Business Advisor at bp, Bin Zhang focuses on low carbon energy and CCUS activities, specifically leading feasibility studies for CCS hub projects. Prior to this, Bin Zhang held several leadership positions at BP, including Head of Upstream China, where responsibilities included reconnaissance and strategic cooperation in the South China Sea. Previous roles include President at Warburg Energy Development Company, where operational and financial efficiencies were significantly improved, and Project Manager at Hess Corporation, overseeing shale oil and gas projects. Bin Zhang began the career as a Geologist at PetroChina, earning an M.S. in Petroleum Geology from the Postgraduate Institute of RIPED, PetroChina, and a B.S. in Geology from Northwest University, Xi'an.
